The New Chainmail Top

I wasn't able to find enough time to make bigger and more elaborated pieces for quite a while, however I finally finished the latest chainmail top I was working on for some weeks (even months). Here is my full metal final product.

Indispensable parts of me: Pliers

Pin It After almost 15 years, I can confess that I am addicted to my chainmail rings and pliers. I sincerely feel uncomfortable when I do not carry them with me so you can see me mailing in a cafe, on the ship or anywhere else. Sea shore is also one of those places :) -Yeah this is my style of resting-

Some Preparations Before the End of Year

Pin It       Each year I decide to have my own calendar to share with all the people in my life and I start to make plans about it but I have never put it into practice. This year I -again- decided to make a mini calendar with the pictures of my chainmail pendants. And this time I rolled up the sleeves to add some new ones to my collection.

      Here are some of them:

New Chainmail Pattern: "Eu 4 in 1 Thrice"

Pin It       As you know there are hundreds of different chainmail patterns, some of which were derived from basic weaves. Such as this new one, it is the variation of European 4 in 1 and you only double the rings with smaller sized rings. It turned out to be one of my favorite weaves actually. Here is the final work:

Latest Chainmail Mix by Xn

Back to chainmail again. Here are some new stuff I made in the past weeks: A shoulder piece (originally aimed to be a bra but I like the sudden change of ideas), some new pendants and a Byzantine medallion.

New Photo-Shoot with Ilgın Akarsu

Good quality and nicely planned photographs are one of the most essential features of handmade works in order to express and display them in the best possible way. I have a friend who is at the same time one of my favorite photographers, Ilgın Akarsu. Few weeks ago we had a very enjoyable photo shooting with her in her studio and she pictured some of my leading chainmail accessories and dragon eggs.
Here are the final images of some of these pieces:

Surrounding Every Bead With Chainmail Frames

Pin It       As every museum specialist, I like to collect as well :) So I have many stones, crystals among my equipments (besides many other unrelated stuff). However, there is a very nice way to bring them in use: Surrounding them with chainmail frames and here is how they look afterwards:

Where Is Chainmail In My Life? Everywhere Everyday :)

I was trying to make a daily-life combination with a chainmail armour and some other pieces. This is a quickly done selection but I like it actually.
Will I wear it? Yes I will. (But I'd rather recommend it for spring or summer since it is ice-cold! :)

All We Need Is Less

Pin It       Simple designs are sometimes the best details that can express style and individuality. This bracelet/wrist band is one of them in my opinion. It is not a complicated chainmail weave but the final result looks cool and satisfying to me.

Snails Hidden in the Backyard

Pin It       We come across these small creatures almost everyday, especially after rain, but unfortunately most of them are not so lucky to come across human beings since it means a giant foot on them. Therefore in rainy days I spend a good amount of time to pick snails on the road to prevent them from turning to jelly and dying in a dramatical way.
All in all, I like snails, I like their gentle, hesitant movements along with their curious faces. So what do I do as usual? Make some snails myself :) Here is my hand-painted version with clay and glass marbles:
