Chainmail Necklace Inspired by “The Astrolabe”

🛠 While making this chainmail necklace, I got inspired by the magnificent computer of the ancients: “The Astrolabe” • The name is derived from Greek astrolabos meaning "star-taker" and it is used by astronomers to predict the positions of the sun, moon, stars and the planets.
💫 I wrote more about it in my older posts so you can check it out under the "Written By Xn" section.
And here is the final Xn Chainmail work:

What do you think about it? Your comments are always appreciated so feel free to write!

New Chainmail Pattern: "Eu 4 in 1 Thrice"

Pin It       As you know there are hundreds of different chainmail patterns, some of which were derived from basic weaves. Such as this new one, it is the variation of European 4 in 1 and you only double the rings with smaller sized rings. It turned out to be one of my favorite weaves actually. Here is the final work:

New Chainmail Patterns: "Scherzo" - "Rosetta" - "Serpent's Spine"

Pin It The best part of making chainmail is to be able to learn tens, even hundreds of different patterns changing from culture to culture. I also try to practise as much patterns as I can. Here are the latest ones I made:

New Photo-Shoot with Ilgın Akarsu

Good quality and nicely planned photographs are one of the most essential features of handmade works in order to express and display them in the best possible way. I have a friend who is at the same time one of my favorite photographers, Ilgın Akarsu. Few weeks ago we had a very enjoyable photo shooting with her in her studio and she pictured some of my leading chainmail accessories and dragon eggs.
Here are the final images of some of these pieces:

Long Chainmail Necklace

Pin It       Well, maybe long is not itself enough to define this model. It is a full, solid accessory in Japanese pattern.

This one is a quite plain pendant with a very thin chain and somehow it became the center of attention by many friends. I like it also.

Two Rows of Half Persian 3 in 1 Chain Necklace

Pin It       This double-row necklace has the half Persian 3 in 1 pattern and I combined it with a very thin longer chain.
By the way, just like the saying "the shoemaker's son always goes barefoot", I have difficulty in finding time to take professional pictures of my own works, despite being a photographer! All of the latest images are taken with my smart phone so if some of them are not sharp enough, that's the reason :)
