Why not CHAINMAIL RINGS? ;)

WORK IN PROGRESS

Pin It        While working on a piece, I also love to make improvisations. Things turn out to be very different sometimes and I like that dynamism of chainmail a lot!
On the other hand, I do not work with tutorials and always figure out things by myself so sometimes a pendant like this can take 5 hours to finish, in order to make the ring sizes match correctly without getting too tight or loose.

I have a little, magical, very sweet inspiration as well.. You see a small part of her below but I will share more pictures in the upcoming posts :)

No, unfortunately I do not work for NASA, yet.. :) And maybe chainmail is way too heavy for them..

More Luxor

Pin It       I saw that living in the same house with a cat is something that you can not understand unless you do so. Before Luxor came to our house, my mother was terrified of cats, my father did not want it at all and my brother was running away when he saw one. So when I told them I would bring a sphynx kitten to our home, the next day my mother got sick. The day I brought it, a big argument took place within the family. I had to stay at a friends house for ten days :) Then they only let me in if I kept it 'only' in my room. I said "ok" and did so, because I knew things would come out differently.

Around 1 week later, my mother was running after Luxor in order to hug her, 2 weeks later my father started to visit my room to say "good bye" to Luxor(!) before leaving for work :)) and 3 months later my brother accepted touching him (yes he is a stubborn, resistent person :)

Now Luxor is our joy, little member of our family having a very big place in our lives and hearts. Usually my life is not so full of good choices :) but bringing her home is the best thing I have ever done! I strongly recommend everybody to experience this sincere love and caring in their own lives.

Whatever action I do, she likes to join (or to be a part of it literally :)

Long-Awaited Luxor: My Dear Sphynx Cat

Pin It       The ones who read my older posts will know how much I was longing to have a sphynx cat. I could only find pictures of them and sigh.. Finally with the big help of a sphynx-loving friend I found a kitten and named her Luxor. By now we have been together for 1 month and 20 days.
I am familiar with looking after bearded dragons and tarantulas but had no experience with cats at all. I was even scared of them in the past years before I fall in love with sphynx cats. Therefore, I had a bit difficulty in the first couple of weeks but it is worth that. Now we started to become a family.
Let me introduce you my dear baby girl Luxor:

I learn a lot with her and she is a very big reason to go home immediately after work. She likes to sleep hand in hand. :)

Gathering information from every possible source :)

Pin It       I met a sphynx owner on Instagram and asked her some questions about these cats. Not only she was very kind to give me a lot of information but also she invited me to her house to meet her cat "Yoda". It turned out to be a nice coincidence because our houses are very close to eachother so few days ago we met and had a very nice talk. Her cat is really cool, lovely, awesome and many other adjectives. It was a very useful meeting and I learned a lot (both pros and cons:) No matter how hard it is to look after these type of cats, I am sure that I really want one to live together. You can be sure of that also by looking at my wide-open-and-can't-be-closed mouth while holding it: :)

Very Small Sphynx Cat Made My Day...

Pin It       Yesterday a friend of mine showed me an update on Facebook. It was about 2 sphynx cats brought to a place nearby. I couldn't wait to see them so I ran there after I woke up this morning.
My very sincere comment about this: The moment that I hold it really made my day and I realized that I have never felt this much happy for a long time. It belongs to someone else so I needed to leave it but it was very very difficult (sigh)...

My Favorite Cat :)

Me and my favorite cat at work :)

Actually I was a dog person for long long years and was afraid of cats. I still love dogs (actually all animals) but somehow I started to like cats also. This is "Kirpik". I hope soon I will have my "Sphynx Cat" and "Bearded Dragon" as well.

Sphynx Cats

Pin It        I am in love with a specific cat for a long long time. It is called the "Sphynx Cat". Most people find them ugly and weird but I am attracted to them somehow quite much. It is not a very common animal so it is very hard to find one and if you manage finding it, people ask thousands of dollars to sell. Actually I am against "buying" another creature -obviously without its will- so I can not ask a petshop to buy one. Therefore I am looking for a way to find a kitten from a Sphynx owner (hopes hopes...).
One of the most beautiful creatures I have ever seen.
The Canadian Sphynx breed was started in 1966, in Toronto. Let me give some information about these cats first. Main characteristic of them is they do not have any fur. At least not enough to see like on a normal cat. The skin is the color their fur would be, and all the usual cat marking patterns may be found on Sphynx skin. These cats are known for their extroverted behavior. They display a high level of energy, intelligence, curiosity, and affection for their owners. (I want a company like that so much.)
According to my sources, it is quite difficult to take care of these cats because since they have the lack of fur, they need close attention to be cleaned thoroughly. One bath a week is usually sufficient. Care should be taken to limit the Sphynx cat's exposure to sunlight also, because they can develop sunburn and skin damage similar to that of humans. All in all, all the part of their body, even the smallest piece of skin under the nail needs to be taken care of by the owner -as they have more wax on their body.
(Am I ready for that challenge? YESSS.)

P.S. Dear reader, if by chance you know anyone to help me about this issue I will appreciate it sooo much and be sooo glad (yes, she still hopes :).
