Long Time No See..

It has been quite a long time since I last wrote in my blog. This fact makes me restless and excited because I want to do a lot of things at the same time and I want to do all of them so badly! For example, currently I am working in an archaeological excavation  and also run my chainmail design brand through Etsy. Excavation takes my days, chainmail takes the rest of my days and nights, including the weekends.

[By the way brief information for the ones who are intrested in: Our excavation site is the “Küçükyalı ArkeoPark” located in the Anatolian side of İstanbul, Turkey. It is a 1200 year-old Byzantine structure complex consisting of a monastery, church and a cistern. You can find more details in one of my previous posts: http://xnpurple.blogspot.com.tr/2016/03/a-sustainable-urban-archaeology.html ]

Except for these 2 occupations:

- I have -and still continue to buy- a lot of books that I want to read,
- There are hundreds of topics I want to search and write on, ranging from botany to zoology, from outer space to history, from clean eating to medieval culture etc,
- I’ve participated a “Go Game” workshop short while ago and I want to practise it with my best friend laying on the grass in a cool summer evening,
- I am in love with Luxor, my sphynx cat and I want to watch movies and tv series with her, putting one after another,
- I like translating ancient Ottoman language into modern Turkish and I want to practise it more, want to memorise new words,
- I travel as much as I can whenever I find (or can create free) time, so I want to travel also,
- Among all these things I have lack of sleep as you may guess. I am fine with it but in order to keep healthy, I want to sleep a bit more, so forth an so on..

And these are just the first things coming to my mind. If I continue with my list, this post can last forever J

My point is, there are so many things in life that we can be interested in, we can (and should) be curious about -I really don’t understand the people who get bored easily. Life is too short for all the things we want to learn or see or practise.

Now I am able to write because we have a 10-day national holiday and I am having the best time in my own way like I dreamt for a long time.

Have you ever thought about your own wish list in life? Shall we use the time more efficiently to satisfy ourselves more?...

Fresh data, my choice for this evening..

Lists + Journals + Excerpts + Dreams: My Personal Archive

A small notebook that I currently carry in my bag

Confession: I am a natural born archivist. I keep many thematic journals since I was like 5 or 6. In those ages of course I used to write shorter (and with quite funnier grammar:) and drew more. As the years passed, I started to write (or record) more, proportional to more reading. I started with diaries, and then continued with thematic pieces like lyrics, quotes and poetry notebooks, book excerpts, few of my own essays, interesting information and formulas, travel journals, etc. I never go out without a small notebook and a pen also because you never know when a good idea will strike to your mind and I don't want to lose such ideas.
Not everyone has to be interested in such things but I really recommend it to the ones who have the tendency. I also make various kinds of lists in those notebooks. It is like keeping aside all the pieces you choose from life. I have the list of names, cocktail recipes, artists and artworks that I like, so forth and so on (yes I keep these in Pinterest also but I trust written papers more than any technological device).
I have a lot of dreams and I (of course:) note them down as well -if I remember a good amount. I have already completed 2 notebooks. I have a special interest in dreams but not by means of shallow dream interpretations. I like to read especially about "dream controll" in which you can do whatever you want, run, fly and even can controll your speed of flight (Senoi tribe brought that theory up). I also found a very old source in ancient Ottoman language and have been translating it for a while. After finishing it all, it can be a further writing in my blog.
All in all, I really recommend everyone finding at least few themes that you are interested in and start to write down some notes from time to time. You understand how sagacious it is when you go through them after a few years.

What I learned in Norway

Pin It       Moving to another country sounds like a very difficult step to take and it really is! However, if you are a person who likes to experience new things, you can learn a lot from this change. I am quite much of a “notebook” person so I started to write down the new things which I didn’t have any idea of before and made a list. If you are in a similar situation, I highly recommend you to do so. Actually such a list can be made even if you are not moving at all because also in daily life we learn new things continuously. Pleasure of this is to see how wide the scale is. Just as my list:

·         Cooking
·         Being patient
·         Growing plants
·         Washing the dishes
·         Cleaning the house
·         Traveling alone
·         Using a drill
·         Making jam
·         Saying “No” when necessary
·         Making dragon style chainmail
·         Lighting a stove
·         Making more crochet and knitting patterns
·         Using a saw
·         Baking bread at home
·         Walking on ice
·         Creating a blog from the start…

As you can see my list consists of very unrelated topics and seems to grow longer. I am sure you will enjoy the results if you make yours.
